NJTPA Public Comment Periods

The public comment period for the matter below recently concluded. This action will be considered by the NJTPA Board of Trustees at its next meeting, to be held at the NJTPA offices on March 29 at 10 A.M.

The proposed amendment would add the following project to the FY 2010 TIP: New Brunswick Station Intermodal Improvements. This would involve a series of capital improvements at the New Brunswick Station on the Northeast Corridor Line to enhance current station functionality and support long-term development of the station as a regional multi-modal hub. Project elements include improved pedestrian safety, increased and enhanced bike storage, upgraded bus passenger facilities, new static and dynamic signage, a new eastbound elevator and upgrades to existing vertical transportation facilities. Funds for this project ($9,061,390) have been specifically designated by Congress as part of the Liberty Corridor program. This project was previously included in the Fiscal Year 2009 TIP but was not authorized during that period but is now ready for authorization by the United States Department of Transportation. The addition of a project to the TIP requires a TIP amendment.

The draft page to be added to the TIP is available here.
