Principal Planner, Mobility Programs
Under the direction of the Manager, Environmental Planning and Mobility Programs, the Principal Planner, Mobility Programs will execute the following functions:
Manage the State of New Jersey's NJTPA-funded Transportation Management Association (TMA) work programs. The TMAs are integral partners in advancing local, regional, and statewide ridesharing strategies, and expanding travel options for older people, people with disabilities, and low income residents. This position requires close coordination with local and statewide partners to support the TMAs work, as well as a detail oriented approach to program administration. This includes development of annual work programs and coordination activities among the TMAs, the subregions (city and county members of the NJTPA), NJ TRANSIT, NJDOT and other partners in regional mobility.
Coordinate with the TMAs on the maintenance, update, and improvements to the statewide ride matching system.
Participate in planning efforts to advance the priorities of the NJTPA's Regional Transportation Plan (RTP), the Together North Jersey Plan, and other NJTPA corridor and regional planning. In this capacity, the incumbent will play a lead role in advancing the NJTPA's Mobility initiatives, including implementation of the agency's Regional Coordinated Human Services Transportation Planning efforts.
Participate in developing, managing, and monitoring a CMAQ-funded Local Mobility Initiatives and Transportation Clean Air Measures program, and conduct research and analysis, provide technical support to, and coordinate with, planning partners.
Coordinate with NJ TRANSIT in funding efforts for human services transportation programs such as NJ-JARC or 5310.
In addition, and as requested:
Assist with or lead in the management of NJTPA corridor and other regional planning efforts and will represent the agency on sub-area study efforts being conducted by NJTPA, subregions, municipalities or other agencies as requested. This work may result in recommendations at the local level to support TDM, ridesharing, or human services transportation efforts.
