TRAFFIC SIGNAL STRATEGIC PLAN AND INVESTMENT FRAMEWORK
Description
The North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority, Inc. (NJTPA) is seeking consultant support to develop a strategic plan and investment framework for integrating investment of traffic signals with state, regional, and local planning. This study will focus on advancing the state of good repair, safety and operations at traffic signals, primarily within county and municipal jurisdiction, throughout the NJTPA region. This effort will begin with a detailed policy analysis of the current transportation system through the lenses of key regional planning goals, including but not limited to safety, complete street/active transportation, multi-modal accommodation, equity, environmental justice, greenhouse gas reduction and air quality, safe routes to schools and overall mobility. The traffic signal strategic plan and investment framework is envisioned to include a data-driven methodology which can support actionable decision making and implementation. This is anticipated to include a screening methodology and identification of required supporting data elements.
