Additional Details

Old Bridge-Matawan Road (CR 516) Bridge ver Lake Lefferts in Old Bridge Township, Matawan Borough and Aberdeen Township.Middlesex County, in partnership with the NJTPA and New Jersey Department of Transportation, is hosting an online public meeting March 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. for the Old Bridge-Matawan Road (CR 516) Bridge Local Concept Development Study.

This study will identify and compare options to address the condition of the bridge over Lake Lefferts in Old Bridge Township, Matawan Borough and Aberdeen Township.

This meeting will provide information on the condition of the bridge and solicit public input on needs this study should address. The information gathered during the meeting will be used to develop the project's Purpose and Need Statement, which is needed to eventually gain funding for any bridge improvements.

Concept Development is the first step in the project development process. This phase evaluates existing conditions, analyzes alternatives and selects a preferred alternative. Projects that successfully complete this phase can seek federal funding for eventual design and construction.
