The NJTPA is hosting a public meeting on the draft Transportation Improvement Program for FY 2020-2023 and its draft Air Quality Conformity Determination, as well as the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program for FY 2020-2029.Additional Details
The TIP is the four-year, fiscally constrained agenda of transportation projects drawn from the NJTPA’s long-range transportation plan. To be eligible for federal funds, proposed projects must be approved by the NJTPA Board for inclusion in the TIP, which is updated annually. The STIP is the federally-required compilation of TIPs from the NJTPA and the state’s two other metropolitan planning organizations.The Air Quality Conformity Determination is a federally required analysis of the TIP, which is used to demonstrate that funded projects, taken together, are consistent with achieving air quality goals and standards in New Jersey's State Implementation Plan. Prior to this public meeting there will be a workshop on air quality conformity from 2-4 p.m.
The meeting runs from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will have an open house format. There will be brief presentations at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. The public is invited to come learn more about the TIP, STIP, and Air Quality Conformity Determination and to submit comments.
