The continuing growth in e-commerce deliveries has resulted in increased demands on local streets and curb space, especially in high-density urban neighborhoods within the NJTPA region. The objective of this study is to clearly define the impacts of e-commerce deliveries based on place type and develop effective strategies to address (mitigate) the negative effects of these new demands. A specific focus of the research study will be the potential and viability of implementing a mitigation strategy such as a micro distribution hub concept in the neighborhoods with large volume of e-commerce package deliveries. The proposed methodology will identify appropriate location(s), core participants and stakeholders, their roles and responsibilities, and a sequence of steps and actions that should be completed for a successful implementation of the selected strategy.
