The NJTPA provides funding to its 15 city and county member subregions to conduct transportation planning work and studies that help achieve the region's long-term goals.

Subregional Planning

The Subregional Transportation Planning (STP) Program provides funding to each subregion for essential transportation planning, programming and administrative activities that support regional needs assessment and strategy development.

Subregional Studies

The Subregional Studies Program provides two-year grants on a competitive annual basis to individual subregions or subregional teams. The program is designed to assist subregions in refining and developing transportation improvement strategies rooted in the NJTPA’s Long Range Transportation Plan (LRTP).
