Have a creative idea to transform your community? The NJTPA's Vibrant Places Program is accepting applications for projects to start later this year.
The Vibrant Places Program provides technical support for community-driven placemaking projects that help lay the groundwork for future place-based and economic development efforts. Selected projects receive technical assistance from specialists at Rutgers University’s Voorhees Transportation Center.
Past projects have included planning for public art installations, community vision plans, visitors' guides, virtual walking tours, and engagement plans.
Eligible applicants include municipal and county governments as well as non-profit, community-based, or non-governmental organizations. Applicants must be located within the 13-county NJTPA region.
To apply, submit a Letter of Interest by September 30, 2025 that reflects thoughtful, community-centered design and a commitment to enhancing the quality and vibrancy of public spaces. All projects must conclude by June 1, 2026.
