The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) is seeking candidates for the position of Engineer Trainee
Transportation (ETT) in The Bureau of Research, Innovation & Information Transfer (BRIIT), Bureau of Statewide
Strategies and the Bureau of Aeronautics, Outdoor Advertising & Junkyards.

Outdoor Advertising & Junkyards Local Resources & Community Development (LRCD) is a community - focused
section made up of a diverse workforce within five areas: Local Aid & Economic Development, Aeronautics,
Outdoor Advertising Services, Environmental Resources, and Community Development.
The Bureau of Aeronautics promotes the development of a safe and efficient air transportation system that
serves the needs of both users and the public. The Bureau oversees a comprehensive range of programs
designed to regulate aviation activities and manage the infrastructure improvement at state - owned airports;
conducts safety inspections; investigates aviation incidents and accidents.
These initiatives reflect NJDOT's commitment to aviation safety, oversight, and public engagement.
The Office of Outdoor Advertising Services & Junkyards issues permits for the placement of outdoor
advertising signs along all roads and highways and complies with federal and state statutes, regulations,
and agreements governing the issuance and renewal of licenses, permits, and enforcement of state and
federal regulations.
A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is required for the Division of Local Resources & Community
Development, Bureau of Aeronautics, Outdoor Advertising & Junkyards.
REQUIREMENTS
Degree: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
in a discipline appropriate to the position.
Note: Possession of a valid Professional Engineer's License issued by the New Jersey State Board of
Professional
Engineers and Land Surveyors may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
Note: An Engineer - In - Training (EIT) certification issued by the Division of Consumer Affairs,
New Jersey Office of the Attorney General may be substituted for the above education requirement.
Applicants must submit proof of the EIT certification and the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)
exam results. The area of discipline indicated on the FE exam results (e.g., Civil, Electrical and
Computers, Chemical, Industrial and Systems, Environmental, Mechanical, and Other Disciplines)
must be appropriate to the position.
