The Department of Environmental Protection will host a community meeting for Newark residents to learn more about the next steps for the Greenway’s investment, including why Newark is in the first phase of implementation. Translation services will be available.

The Greenway is an approximately nine-mile, 100-foot-wide former rail line spanning Essex and Hudson Counties through eight municipalities. The DEP is undertaking the conversion of this blighted corridor into a park with recreation and transportation amenities.
