NJTPA On Air engages children in the agency’s transportation planning work. The last engagement activity was the 2025 On Air Future of Transportation contest as part of our outreach for Connecting Communities: The NJTPA Long Range Transportation Plan.
Kids’ Future of Transportation Contest
Winners and Submissions
Thank you to everyone who participated in our 2025 On Air Future of Transportation contest! We received more than 200 artwork submissions from children ages 5 to 15 from across our region.
Although each submission was unique, several common themes arose. Children shared that their vision for the future of transportation includes:
- Vehicles that fly or hover
- Autonomous vehicles
- Highspeed trains powered by maglev technology
- Environmentally-friendly travel modes
- Futuristic micro-mobility, such as jetpacks or hovering chairs
- Vehicles you could live in, such as self-sustaining pods
- Teleportation
