13 counties in northern New Jersey, is announcing a Request for Proposals for consultant assistance for two separate planning studies under one contract for the Borough of Fair Lawn and the City of New Brunswick. The Fair Lawn project will develop a Comprehensive Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Plan for the Broadway Train Station on the border of Fair Lawn/Elmwood Park. This work will include an assessment of land uses and the transportation network within a half-mile radius of the train station, and make recommendations for promoting a pedestrian-friendly, mixed-use district. An assessment of Transit Village readiness, consistent with the multi-agency partnership known as the Transit Village Initiative, will also be conducted for Fair Lawn's Broadway and Radburn Train Stations. In addition, the project will develop a Complete Streets Implementation Plan for the area around the New Brunswick Train Station, the downtown, and the French Street corridor. The plan will identify strategies and projects for incorporating multimodal accommodations into the planning, design, maintenance, and operations of the street network.The NJTPA invites all qualified firms with experience in this area to submit proposals for this project.
