About the Plan
The Implementation Plan will focus on improving access and mobility options to the train station area and the surrounding downtown neighborhoods. This area is one of New Brunswick's primary gateways, connecting neighborhoods, businesses, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, and community destinations.
The plan will evaluate existing conditions for pedestrians, bicyclists, transit riders, motorists, freight deliveries, and people with disabilities. It will identify opportunities to improve sidewalks, crosswalks, bicycle facilities, bus stops, intersections, streetscape amenities, lighting, wayfinding, traffic operations, and connections to the New Brunswick Train Station. The end result will be a practical, phased Complete Streets strategy that will improve safety, accessibility, mobility, and overall user experience for everyone who travels along the corridor.
