Belleville Township – Safer Streets Plan

Technical assistance included the analysis of four roads (Division Avenue, Joralemon Street, Passaic Avenue, and Greylock Parkway) surrounding Belleville High School and the design and coordination of a temporary bike lane demonstration on Division Avenue. Both components were a collaborative effort with municipal employees, school district officials, and Township stakeholders. Officials and residents are interested in making it safer and easier to walk and bike to the school and the Municipal Stadium, and to reduce congestion and speeding around the school, particularly during school drop off and pickup and during school and community events. This report summarizes the implementation of a temporary bicycle lane demonstration and public feedback.
